Alfonso Caso with his team discovered tomb number 7 at the Archeological site of Monte Alban in Oaxaca. They found a treasure with lost Mixtec jewelry pieces. But it was until 1985 with the Mater Jewelers that have worked in Rosita’s Workshop (founded in 1947), Alberto Rojas and his wife Ines Valades found Oro de Monte Alban. More than three decades later, Oro de Monte Alban keeps captivating with high quality and design. In their workshop, the Mater Jewelers create handcrafted pieces keeping the ancient techniques alive.
